아재개그를 영어로 하면? + 미국대통령도 즐겨하는 아재개그 + 최신 아재개그

 2016년 한국과 미쿡에서 유머/개그의 한축을 담당했던 아재개그를 영어로 하면 뭐가 될까요?

A-jae gag 일까요??  그건 아닌듯 싶구요.....

일단 아재개그의 한국말 부터 좀 알아보면...

한국어로 

아재 = 아저씨의 낮춤말입니다. 원래 아저씨라는 것은 손아래 사람이 손위의 사람을 부를 때 사용하는 단어입니다.

         일단 낮춤말이다 보니 좋은 말은 아니지요....  

         아재라는 표현이 사용되는 경우를 보면 나이가 많아서 현실감각이 떨어지는 경우나 빠르게 변하는 트렌드를 몰라서

         젊은 사람들(어린이들)에게 놀림을 받을 때 많이 사용 됩니다. 

그리고 

개그 = 원래는 한국말이 아닌 영어이지요. gag  "게그", "계그: 아닙니다.  순 우리말로 한다면 우스개, 익살 뭐 이런 단어가 될 수 있습니다.

          연극, 영화, 텔레비전 프로그램 따위에서 관객을 웃게 하기 위하여 하는 대사나 몸짓. ‘재담’을 통칭하는 단어입니다..

그래서 아재개그라고 하면 통칭 아저씨들이나 하는 진부한 농담을 칭합니다.  그리고 최근에는 과거에 넌센스(nonsense quiz) 퀴즈라고 칭하던

부분도 일부 통합된것 같습니다.

영어에도 이와 똑같지는 않지만 유사한 단어가 있습니다. 

Dad Joke 라고 합니다.

여기서 

Dad  = 아버지를 편하게 부를 때 사용되는 단어이지요...  여기서는 나이많은 사람들을 통칭하면 됩니다... 

           " 아빠는 요즘 애들을 몰라!!" 라고 이야기 할 때 생각하면 됩니다.

Joke = 말 그대로 농담입니다...

그래서 Dad joke 하면 우리나라의 아재개그와 동일한 느낌으로 사용됩니다. 

미국에서 이 Dad joke로 유명하신 분 중 한명이 이제 퇴임 하시는 오바마 대통령입니다.

For generations presidents have faithfully executed two great American traditions, issuing a proclamation that sets aside a Thursday in November for us to express gratitude and granting pardons that reflect our beliefs in second chances. And this week, we do both.

Of course Thanksgiving is a family holiday as much as a national one, so for the past seven years I’ve established another tradition, embarrassing my daughters with a corny-copia of dad jokes about turkeys.

(LAUGHTER)

This year they had a scheduling conflict.

(LAUGHTER)

Actually they just couldn’t take my jokes anymore.

(LAUGHTER)

They were fed up. Fortunately, I have by my side, here today two of my nephews, Austin and Aaron Robinson. Who unlike, Malia and Sasha, have not yet been turned cynical by Washington.

(LAUGHTER)

They still believe in bad puns. They still appreciate the grandeur of this occasion. They still have hope. Malia and Sasha, by the way, are thankful that this is my final presidential turkey pardon. What I haven’t told them yet is that we are going to do this every year from now on.

(LAUGHTER)

No cameras, just us, every year. Now way I’m cutting this habit cold turkey.

(APPLAUSE)

(LAUGHTER) [

Good one. That was pretty funny.

Thanksgiving is a chance to gather with loved ones, reflect on our many blessings and, after a long campaign season, finally turn our attention from polls to poultry. This year we’re honored to be joined by two of the lucky ones, who were raised by the Domino family in Iowa, Tater and Tot.

Now, Tater is here in a backup role just in case Tot can’t fulfill his duties. So he’s sort of like the vice turkey. We’re working on getting him a pair of aviator glasses.

And it is my great privilege — well, it’s my privilege — actually, let’s just say it’s my job to grant them clemency this afternoon.

As I do, I want to take a moment to recognize the brave turkeys who weren’t so lucky, who didn’t get to ride the gravy train to freedom.

(LAUGHTER)

Who met their face with courage and sacrifice and proved they weren’t chicken.

(LAUGHTER)

(“BABY CRYING”)

It’s not that bad now, come on.

(LAUGHTER)

Of course, we have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving; six straight years of job creation, the longest streak ever, low unemployment, wages are rising again, inequality is narrowing, the housing market is healing, the stock market’s nearly tripled, our high school graduation rate is at an all-time high and our uninsured rate is an all-time low, thanks to the 20 million more Americans including millions of children who finally know the security of health insurance. Proud families…

(APPLAUSE)

That’s worth gobbling about.

(LAUGHTER)

Proud families across the country are finally complete now that marriage equality is the law of the land. There are many families of service members who had empty chairs at the table in recent years, but who on this Thanksgiving, can celebrate with our brave troops and veterans who we’ve welcomed home.

Thanksgiving’s also a reminder of the source of our national strength, that out of many, we are one, that we’re bound not by any one race or religion, but rather by an adherence to a common creed that all of us are created equal. And while accepting our differences and building a diverse society has never been easy, it has never been more important. We are people that look out for one another and get each other’s backs. We keep moving forward, defined by values and ideals that have been alike to all humanity.

We have to see ourselves in each other because we’ve all got families we love and we all have hopes for their better future and we lose sight of that sometimes, and Thanksgiving’s a good time for us to remember that. We have a lot more in common than divides us.

The holidays are also a time when it’s even more important to reach out to those who need a helping hand. I believe we’re judged by how we care for the poor and the vulnerable, the sick and the elderly, the immigrant, the refugee, everybody who is trying to get a second chance. I believe that in order to truly live up to those ideals, we have to continually fight discrimination in all its forms and always show the world that America is a generous and giving country. We should also make sure everyone has something to eat on Thanksgiving, of course except the turkeys because they’re already stuffed.

So later today, the Obama family will participate in our traditional Thanksgiving service project. And when somebody at your table tells you that you’ve been hogging all the side dishes and you can’t have any more, I hope that you respond with a creed that a sums up the spirit of a hungry people, “Yes, we cran.”

Look, I know there’s some bad ones in here, but this is the last time I’m doing this so we’re not leaving any room for leftovers.

Let me just say — how am I doing? Good?

Let me just one last thing before I spare these turkey’s lives. On this Thanksgiving, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the American people for the trust that you’ve placed in me over these last eight years and the incredible kindness that you’ve shown my family. On behalf of Michelle and my mother-in-law and our girls, we want to thank you so very, very much.

And now, from the Rose Garden, Tater and Tot will go to their new home at Virginia Tech, which is admittedly a bit hokey.

(LAUGHTER)

They’ll get to live out their natural lives at a new facility called Gobbler’s Rest, where students and veterinarians will care for them. And so let’s get on with the pardoning because it’s Wednesday afternoon and everyone knows that Thanksgiving traffic can put people in a fowl mood. (LAUGHTER)

Tot, I hereby pardon you from the Thanksgiving table, and we have you have a wonderful time in Gobbler’s Rest and I’ll give a little special dispensation. Do you guys want to kind of wave at him a little bit?
